How far activities in rice fields contributing to massive sedimentation to the coastal environment. Not just sedimentation but nutrient and pesticides. We must have good systems to manage excess of sedimentation, nutrient and pesticides to the coastal environment.

Now we need to think about SIMSEA Malaysia (MySIMSEA) and Malaysia Future Earth (MyFuture Earth). We have SDG too. Who is going to do it? we cannot have same people are doing the same thing.

Panel discussion on plastic pollution. Education and public awareness are very important beside rules and regulation and enforcement. More that 300 participants from Australia, USA, Netherlands, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand,UK, Indonesia, Philippines and others participated the forum.

We need more Ramsar Sites in Malaysia. We already have 7 Ramsar Sites, 2 in Sabah, 1 in Sarawak, 1 in Pahang and 3 in Johor. WWe need three more soon in Penang (Teluk Air Tawar), Perak (Kuala Gula) and Selangor (Kuala Selangor Nature Park).

Since 1993 we are talking about clean river. In 25 years if all responded to the campaign all 100 rivers should be clean and clear now.

As President of Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) many journalists asked my comment about budget 2019. For environment I can say not very clear especially for nature. BUT since many ministries are involved in nature so all must contribute in reclaiming and protecting nature. In the forst place the officers and ministers must understand about nature protection and conservation. Malaysia as top 12 megabiodiversity in the world integrated approaches are needed.

There are many schools in Kedah watching this scenery twice a year. Unfortunately when I asked students from Kedah at the university failed to explain in detail about the process and cycle of paddy planting in Kedah. May be we need to have a specific module related ecological process outside their classroom. This can be one way of teaching science effectively.

cycling on campus need to be reactivate not just ceremonial but make it a culture. Cycling create active life on campus and promoting green campus.
