Seminar Ekologi Malaysia 2018 on the 8 November 2018 will be the fourth in its series. I hope this time more participants from universities and research institution will participate. we need to promote more young scientists involve in ecological studies.

It was started in 2010. For education purposes and promoting awareness among school children, the programme should be continue forever. We cannot depending to the decision of the current leaders. Education must go on with may be the same content but biodiversity in approaches and techniques. Environmental issues are dynamic depending on nature, disasters, poor planning in development, poo knowledge in nature and biodiversity, public awareness, respect, policies, governance, corruption, etc. Therefore continuous education is very important. IWe can identify all GLCs that related to nature and conservation, technology and exploration to support this kind of activities. NGOs and Experts are ready to contribute and support.

May be we should recognise more focus research towards establishing some thing or supporting the government policies. In the case of Kuala Gula, Perak already promoted as important seabirds sanctuary where thousands of migratory shore birds stop over at Kuala Gula as they are migrating southwards and northwards escaping cold weather in their breeding place in the northern hemisphere. Kuala Gula then become one of the tourist attraction place. Kuala Gula also is promoting to be one of the Ramsar Sites in Malaysia. It is recognised as one of 55 Important Birds Area in Malaysia by BirdLife International (active International NGO with 121 members worldwide). We need to do something with Kuala Gula and get more scientists involve.

Good laws and enforcement may be can help illegal hunting and trafficking. Public awareness is important and they need to know the laws on wildlife protection.

May be we need at least three(3) assistants to support seniour professors to write or apply his knowledge. If possible with PhD qualification. We cannot miss aktive professors after their retirement. All good professors should get a special grant to support his salary, traveling, postdoctoral research staff and budget fr publications. RM250,000.00 to RM500,000.00 is good enough for one year. moving towards developed country we cannot think like traditional ways anymore.

live in harmony is important. all politician and public must understand each other in term of culture, language and religion. education at schools and universities may be need to include understanding culture. What ever it is RESPECT is important. May be all must learn how to respect each others.
