Picture below is rice field in Kedah, Alor Setar. Kedah produced 40% of rice for Malaysian. Rice fields in Kedah depending on water from Ulu Muda. Ulu Muda supply water to Perlis, Penang and Kedah. They need 70%, 80% and 96% respectively water from Ulu Muda for domestic use, agriculture, industry and tourism. We need to protect and conserve Ulu Muda Forest Reserve for future water supply.
