Research on Malayan Tapir is very urgent BUT the authority did not show interest on it. They look still traditional, no cooperation between forestry, wildlife and drainage department even though they are under same ministry. may be the top bosses are not interested and lower ranks staff just play safe not truely thinking on real wildlife conservation. Look at tiger, sumatran rhino, sun bear and now tapir.
