I ending my 2018 by giving talk to staff and students of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) on the opportunity to collaborate with Malaysian Nature Society (MNS). MNS is the oldest nature based society in Malaysia born in 1940. UPM can collaborate with MNS in term of education and promoting conservation of nature. We can promote volunteerism among students by joining activities organised by MNS. Students and do Industrial Training at MNS and students and lectures can do research together with MNS, become a member and publish articles in Malayan Nature Journal and Malayan Naturalist. Talk today is part of my 100 days as a President of MNS.

All Professors must have their Inaugural Lecture to share their expertise with peers and public. Many questioned about the quality of Innaugural Lectures. Some are like lecturer notes and some are very poor references of their own. References are very important to show their publications of their previous work and related to their expertise.

"Wira Rimba" or Forest Warriors is a documentary that showcases the role of park rangers in Malaysia in protecting our environment and its natural resources. This documentary follows the life of the rangers and takes a look at the challenges which they face. human-wildlife conflicts continues. Ecoviduct may not solve a problems. we need more education, awareness, practice and actions. Ecoviducts is not an ecotourism destination but for wildlife crossing. we cannot expose wildlife crossing to opportunity for poaching.

Conservation program through education and local community involvement in tiger conservation at Teluk Gunuing, Merapoh Pahang.

We need more Ramsar Sites in Malaysia in order to protect our wetlands and mangroves forest an important habitat for birds and other marine life. Wetlands can be another Key Biodiversity Area (KBA).

May be Kedah State Government need to look at better ways to manage the forest for better economy instead of cutting forests. Tourisms, water catchment areas, water supply for industries, agriculture, domestic, etc. increase of paddy production, and other by products.

May be this can bring MNS (Malaysian Nature Society) to another step. Make MNS recognised and respected. MNS started with developing educated members in Nature and Conservation. Continuous publication of MNJ (Malayan Nature Journal), MN (Malayan Naturalist) and Suara Enggang is the evident for intellectual contribution by members.

I hope with new management in Malaysia our system for UMRAH and Haji will be better not just in the country but in Saudi Arabia.

Remember three years a go. We need more collaboration related to the Straits of Malacca. UNRI, USU and LIPI can lead and collaborate with Malaysian Scientists.

Science Film Festival organised by Goother Institute is one way of promoting science, Technology and Innovation through film. New media can attract more youth to like science , thinking science, creative and innovative towards inculturation science in our society.

Why degazetting the permanent forest reserve? We need more protected forest reserve for wildlife conservation.. Bukit Lagong must be protected and conserve forever.

Malaysia was listed as one of the countries with many landslides. WHY? need more scientific thinking society.

Studies on Isognomon alatus in Malaysia not very active. Twenty years ago I did it in Sungai Sepang Besar and sungai Sepang Kecil. One student from Iran graduated with PhD and few followed later but not really good finished. BUT the model of experiments was copied. We even do not have enough experts or peer to appreciate this pioneering research in Malaysia.

Towards zero plastic pollutions is a continuous process of educating public and manufacturers and develop rules and regulations.

the NGOs must work harder to educate greedy and stubborn people who do not respect rues and regulations. and understand on biodiversity conservation. We need to keep forest for biodiversity conservation, water resources, tourism and balance the ecosystems.

Kesemua syarikat berkenaan semakin bermaharajalela menarah hutan sesuka hati atas alasan memiliki lesen yang ‘direstui’ pihak atasan sedangkan mereka menjalankan pembalakan melebihi had kawasan ditetapkan di bawah lesen tersebut.

Stake holders engagement for EUmy forest programme. Sharing information on branch activities.

May be we need to have a forum to discuss about degazeting the Permanent Forest Reserve and may be we need to reassess the forest classification. We have many rules and regulations but people do not read all rules together when they made the decision.

Malaysia is talking about regulation on development on the slopes and land slides disasters. BUT the incidents continues. They refer to the experts and listen to NGOs BUT only ceremonials. Public must be strong enough to say something.

to day we learned about plastic pollution and how they contribute to migratory shore birds in EAAF. We need to understand and change public attutude.
