Look at Lectrurers Scheme in Malaysia

When the Global Poverty Multiple (GPM) as per national poverty line is compared for parliamentarians, school teachers and college lecturers, it reveals that an Indian parliamentarian, school teacher and college lecturer draws a better salary than his counterparts in US, UK, Israel, Japan and all other countries mentioned in the table above. Surprising, school teachers in almost all countries (except India) are on poverty line or even below the poverty line, as their GPM figure falls between the range of 0.50 to 1.50. Do kindly note that this is after assuming that a person receiving a salary would be maintaining a family of three.
Is there any comparison to Malaysian lecturer's pay?

Herbarium

What is an herbarium?
An herbarium (plural: herbaria) is an institution housing a collection of preserved plants that have been gathered and classified over a long period of time. An herbarium also stores records regarding these plants.

Why are herbaria important?
Herbaria are used to study the relationships among plant species, to study how plants evolved over time and to document the plants of an area. They are very useful in helping to determine the identity of unknown plants or discovering new species. Many herbaria contain specimens of local plant life, recording the region’s flora.

Extension: A Knowledge Transfer Programme

We do not have to do research at the place where we want to do extension services but with knowledge based on research earlier, we still can help or convince the public. Eg. Horn bills conservation programme in Parit Panjang Sabak Bernam and Milky Stork Conservation Programme in Kuala Gula, Perak. In fact by having a strong knowledge, we easily can convince the public and they will support us. Now both Horn bills and Milky Storks conservation are moving towards success.

Breakfast with PM at Kayu Nasi Kandar USJ10: PM TURUN PADANG

Good opportunity for those who difficult to see PM or shake hand with PM and opportunist to show that PM know them. Usually for the political purposes. BUT young people now not just looking at that. They want good and quality leaders who understand their problems and able to direct them to the future. Future life will be very tough with globalisation, less patriotism, free competition, poor/less skills, knowledge & spirit among Malays and economics dominance by Chinese & illogical right demand by the Indian, in turn will create pressure on politic stability. This is the fact of multi racial countries especially Malaysia where the Malays are dominant. Therefore now with ONE MALAYSIA concept need to be well undestood and participate by young generations for the balance Malaysian Society.

Ocean and balance ecosystems

We need to explore more on science of ocean. Large percentage of areas on earth is ocean. We do not living there but they have a lot for us. Million of sardine serving bigger fishes and mammals. They serve human being too. BUT how far we understand about sardine biology, ecology and their challenges due climate change, global warming and human technology. Do we need sardine just to feed tuna for our consumption OR sardine have more significant values than feeding tuna.

Which one is more important between writing reports and protecting forest

Government, authorities, leaders and public may need to reassess their thinking and view on research, reporting and outcome of research. Some researchers were awarded a research grants just for buying expensive chemicals, pouring to the drain and reporting the status of research, chemicals content and numbers. Which one is more important, effective and value for money and public, between producing 151 manuscripts of reporting numbers compared to saving and protecting natural forest for future generations as the results of long time research, understanding, activities in public awareness and successfully convince public, politician, government authorities and media.

Ideas and Power of implimentation

Proposal saya kena reject lagi. Ini adalah last cycle proposal sebelum pencen.

Challenges in Biology Programme at the University

With these two examples of top universities Biology is remain an important fields. The only thing is we need to think of our future needs. What do we want to have for our future generation. Probably we need Quality food, Good Environment to live, High technology facilities and Health. Therefore basic biology need to focus on those future need. Meeting challenges of Global Changes

Most of the officers in the government department related to nature, environment, wildlife and sustainability, understand about nature and the effect of development. They learned in the university, read the news papers, attending courses, seminars and conferences. BUT why the problems continue and biodiversity lost, climate change and landslides, air and water pollution and affect the environmental and human health.

Ecology and Behaviour of eel are Fundamental Research?

Many proposal assessors are ROBOT! Last time my proposal on Milky Storks. Only 4 birds left in the wild and government introducing captive animals into the wild. The birds are urgently need protection and conservation, the proposal was not important for the country and was rejected. This time eel researches are in high demand in Korea, Taiwan, China and Japan then followup by Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand. Researches in Europe are increasing. BUT in Malaysia panels are still not thinking about it and reject the proposal. SORRY this kind of studies cannot be done in test tubes or chonicle flasks.

May be not enough education and campaign to reduce liver disease

Research NEEDS and Research PROPOSALS

Why and when we need research?
Why we do research proposal?
Administrators, Managers, Politician, Public and Researchers may have different opinion. Basic biology researchers may have another ideas or opinion. Strengthen basic biology research perhaps can help people when they need research.

Call For Research in Wildlife is Continous! Why?

If we look at the demand and concern in wildlife, it is not new. Why scientists are talking about it?. We need real actions, educating public and politician. Other wise we will continuously loosing to the greedy developer or economist! Easy to convince people if we talk about money but not many really understand on healthy and security of life.

OPEN ZOO NEAR KUALA LUMPUR?

Many are thinking of keeping green areas, maintaining nature and at the same time public can get the benefit of the forest. Old benefit is logging, later recreation. One of the ideas is open zoo, where animals were kept in the environment that close to their natural habitat.Singapore Zoo already established their open zoo concept and attract world's attention. NOW in Malaysia Zoo Melaka, Zoo Taiping and Zoo Negara try to develop the open zoo concept. BUT may be too late due to space and natural habitat. Now other green, natural forest and logged forest may be approached as a new open concept zoo.A zoological garden, zoological park, menagerie, or zoo is a facility in which animals are confined within enclosures, displayed to the public, and in which they may also be bred.
The term zoological garden refers to zoology, the study of animals, a term deriving from the Greek zōon (ζῷον, "animal") and lógos (λóγος, "study"). The abbreviation "zoo" was first used of the London Zoological Gardens, which opened for scientific study in 1828 and to the public in 1847. The number of major animal collections open to the public around the world now exceeds 1,000, around 80 percent of them in cities
London Zoo, which opened in 1828, first called itself a menagerie or "zoological garden," short for "Gardens and Menagerie of the Zoological Society of London." The abbreviation "zoo" first appeared in print in the UK around 1847, when it was used for the Clifton Zoo. The term "zoological park" was used for more expansive facilities in Washington, D.C., and the Bronx in New York, which opened in 1891 and 1899 respectively.
Relatively new terms for zoos coined in the late 20th century are "conservation park" or "biopark". Adopting a new name is a strategy used by some zoo professionals to distance their institutions from the stereotypical and nowadays criticized zoo concept of the 19th century. The term "biopark" was first coined and developed by the National Zoo, Washington, D.C. in the late 1980s. In 1993, the New York Zoological Society changed its name to the Wildlife Conservation Society and rebranded the zoos under its jurisdiction as "wildlife conservation parks."

Fewer migratory birds stopping by in Malaysia. Effect of Climate Change?

As we know migratory shore birds flying thousands of kilometres from northern hemisphere to southern hemisphere every year to escape from cold weather in their breeding sites. They are depending to climate for feeding, breeding and migrating. Therefore climate change is important to their survival.

We cannot plant the same natural trees BUT may be we can build the same design of historic building

DO NOT EASILY CUT THE TREES! but plant the tree is ok. Everybody must plant two trees at least to grow together with you.
Your father should plant the trees when you were born so that the trees growing with you absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen for you to use, and when you are old, you can plant the trees for the younger one.
