I think this is good respond to the World Urban Forum in last February 2018. May be all Malaysian are ready to give ideas since we are now facing rapid expansion of urban areas and traditional villages are becoming fragmented many issues from rubbish to wildlife conflict. more ideas and good planning ae needed.

We have a lot of discussion since 2015 on the potential of collaboration with Korean who have many high technologies that we can adopt. Unfortunately leaders commitment is very important. Leaders must be brave enough to move forwards for new change.

May we can do something for water and electricity. With recent technology such as solar and simple water pump and storage systems clean water can be provided for the Orang asli. Drinking water quality is very important. Boiled water is another way need to be practiced among Orang Asli, tea/coffee bags (?), fuel etc need to be introduced.

MyMangrove first seminar by Prof emeritus Dr A Latif Mohamad at Lestari UKM. We need more people to support myMangrove and promoting research on mangrove. I cannot wait in October to talk about conflict in protecting mangrove ecosystems.

Water still an issues in schools eiter wastage ot bot enough. Education and awareness programme need to be done continuously.

Competing for the green campus is very good BUT how far all staff and students are together contributing to the green campus and the students continue to practice after their graduated and become the leader later. Everybody must support green campus. Start with managing plastic and food waste.

Look at the prices of these shoes. For me they are very expensive. BUT the whole world they are doing well. Many people have money to buy. Are they contributing to the air pollution, contaminating the ocean, and killing wildlife? People spent a lot of money to pollute the world.

From World Economic Forum information what we can plan for our country. Yes we need to feed people, we need to provide jobs for people and we need to educate people. How far we appreciate and values the thinkers to think and develop more intellectuals and scientists. Some are happy in giving ideas and some are happy in making policies. BUT who will implement the policies and who will monitor the success. Are we going to talk on the same thing every year and together we are clapping hands. Yes We Can.... It is enough?. About time we need to change our mind set for the culture, trends and the future.

This is another good planning for conservation. Since Mangrove ecosystems is very important to human being and wildlife,. we need to protect and conserve them where necessary. Government, NGOs and experts need to work together for the benefit of the country and the world.

Illegal logging, deforestation and biodiversity conservation. Talk on this must be continue and all NGO must put their list of actions for 2019. Analyse all government statements and take the opportunities to protect and conserve the nature that we have..

Many things were discussed with former minister of higher education since 2015 including leadership in the university, recognition of professors in the university, future graduates, inline with world demand, etc. I think new minister should continue the discussion instead of putting new ideas and disturbing the continuity. In academic there is no politic and should be based on the intellectual discussion.

As an academician we need to monitor our performance in ideas, creativity, research, good students, publications and how our ideas, findings are shared to the others.

Standby for world wetlands day 2019. it is not just ceremonial but reminding public to support protect and conserve wetlands for better life.

2018 we talk a lot on plastic pollution in the ocean and its effect on marine wildlife such as whales, dolphin, turtle and sea birds. Hopefully public understand and aware of plastic pollution and try change the habit towards better managing of plastic. This year we talk about zero plastic pollution and enforcement.
