Many are talking about smart classroom. What is smart classroom and what is that for. In lecture suppose to give lecture and lecturer must have good knowledge and experience through research. With internet and google, make teaching easier. all reeernces and evidence in the lecture can be shown on screen and students also can google and compare notes. skill of getting accurate information from internet is important.
Collaborating with corporate something that we learn and collaborate to achieve our goal. Planters are directly dealing with conservation especially the wildlife. We need to work together They must do something and follow NGO advise Ths time MNS with Tradewinds on Johore forest and wildlife in particular gibbon and their cross bridge. to cross man made road separating their habitat..

How far we are following SDG sustainable Development Goal 2030? We can talk and meetings and conferences BUT need effective actions. Time is limited. Development demand is faster than conservation demand. In many cases we can see conflicts in development and conservation. MNS need to be more aggressive promoting nature protection, conservation and managing them as needed. More experts needed and More NGO be together with MNS vision.
we are still primitive in practicing separating at source and recycling. We need to be more aggressive in educating public, develop awareness among public and make public practice. At the beginning will be very costly. I think they know but they are lazy to follow because not happen to them. I always say that changing culture start in the university.
MNS is very lucky having members who are active in monitoring bird migration. We are assessing the IBA (Important Bird Areas) in Malaysia. There are 55 IBA need to be visited and reassess. Recently we were surprised with thousands of birds soaring in the sky. Many things in public mind when they saw thousands of birds circling in the sky. Now is the migration season. Birds escaping from their cold breeding season to the warmer southern hemisphere.
We cannot let the students look at the pictures alone when they learn about animal kingdom especially the big animals. We have to bring them to the zoo. Zoo need to engage more academician to help them in providing education materials. Zoo not just exhibiting animals bit education, conservation and research.
Every year we confer new Academy Science Malaysia Fellow. We recognised them as top scientists in the country or contributing a lot in science development. As I have said many times, about time we truly recognise them by documenting their contribution in science. either in printing form or digital form.

When we talk on greening the environment or cleaning plastic pollution, we cannot talk in the lecture hall only BUT must be on the ground with the local community. Local community knowledge and awareness on coastal erosion, pollution and health is very important in order to get their support in managing plastic pollution and coastal ecosystem health.
WE cannot wait until extinct to talk about conservation. research on biodiversity should be a continuous activities to understand on the status of animals, biology, ecology and threat on their habitat. Then from basic scientific knowledge on individual animal, we can advance research on technology and strategies for conservation
