Researches on coastal marine sciences are still in demand!

Malaysia is maritime country. So far we are focussed on terrestrial environment for our living space, food resources and other need. In fact we contaminate our aquatic environment and finally our Coastal environment. World knows that Coastal environment contribute to human survival, not only for protein resources but a place for fish to breed and grow before move to open seas and back for breeding. The cycles continues. Perhaps in the future demand on Coastal environment will be increased for food sources, recreation and in fact place for living. Therefore active and urgent research need to be supported. In Malaysia, we have MOSTI, NOD, NRE, MOF and probably MOHE to support researches related to Coastal marine sciences not only on science and technology but on socio-economy. There are about 50 active researchers on Coastal marine sciences in Malaysia and more than hundred of young scientists are under those active scientists supervision. The authority cannot just close their eyes if Malaysia is concerned about environment, sustainability, health, economy and food security.
