Shocking numbers of species are threatened with extinction, including 41% of amphibians, 25% of mammals and 13% of birds, according to recent estimates.Biodiversity provides food for humans. About 80% of our food supply comes from just 20 kinds of plant. Although many kinds of animal are used as food, again most consumption is focused on a few species. We cannot wait any longger for biodiversity research. Not just money BUT interest of the young generation. May be we need to promote Biodivresity for Y-generation by Y-generation (BYY) before we say good by.
