We are talking on forest conservation and green urban for better life with cool temperature, clean air to breath and enough clean water to drink and domestic use and water for industri and agriculture. How far we are following what we agreed and learned from the international discussion and decision. OR some of us are still primitive thinking.

Getting together is very important BUT more important is the products. We achieve high ranking now. UPM in the top 200 in the world as planned in 2010. Getting the ranking p is good hard work, Now to maintain in top 200 or up to top 100 is another issue.The leaders must look at all angle the strategies to improve further. Probably money and scholarship are important. Excellence and productive seniours need to support. University need to look for the systems and money.

more than 10 years ago I said Halal business is not for the Muslim interest because the business community are mainly non Muslim. So all non Muslim halal business man must have halal certificate. This International Halal Village I saw majority of the participants are non Muslim. WHY not we have all halal because the market for halal is big and good opportunity. .

We need to talk to plants to make us healthy. We need to plant many herbs in our garden or one corner of our house to get the smell or natural therapy. Make is as a hobby and feel the treatment of old age.

Continuous contribution through media on nature conservation. NOT that easy to convince and promoting wildlife conservation like horn bills. We cannot be like national geography. They have money. we dont have anything; experts, technology, technical person, will, money and all the things that involve in film making. May be what we have only ideas or dreams.

I think the theory of ending of the world is right after no more animal live in the world. Human are responsible for the animal extinction. With world plastic pollution and habitat loss how wildlife can survive. Plastic pollution can never be cleaned. Stop using plastic and manage them well. Plastic killing baby turtle and sea birds how we can get the adult? Think about it.

To change public mindset is not easy. I used to say we need 6 generations to change people lifestyle, thinking and perceptions. May be with new media and technologies we can change faster. This time we talked about conserving malayan tiger.

My more than ten years collaboration with the Coca-cola in water vision and recycling programmes, I can see how the company is at the top in the world. We need to learn from them. Last time I suggested to learn from Manchester United because they were at the top. Now they keep loosing. WHY? Sometime we need to get out from shadow.

Unfinished issues when we do not have strong knowledge, skill, expertise, technology and good governance. The authorities must learn past experience and always refer to the experts. We need to look all past experience on chemical pollution in water or in the air holistically. We cannot create time bomb industries.

Bureau Varitas can be a new partner in many of MNS activities. We need more international companies to support MNS. May be intherbationational companies understand and have more commitment on conserving nature in Malaysia since the are missing in many ways of conservation issues.

For truly global challenge we need to look at the quality of our professors and graduates. NOT just ranking. Ranking is important too for the public attraction.

We need to have more forum on the environment and nature issues among the NGOs, Government officers and policy makers. we are still weak in implementing our policies, rules and regulations.

We need to change our mind set towards Orang Asli. They need mental and physical development. They need proper settlement, quality food and health to survive like others in Malaysia. We cannot keep them or preserve them as primitive living environment.

I have done my part giving public talk on mangrove. We need to create an issues and make public scares about loosing mangrove forests.

Every body need to plant trees to keep enough oxygen to breath. We campaign to plant in the protected areas such as university's campus. UPM planted million of trees already to keep its campus green.

We know the problems, we know the solution and we know how to do it. BUT why we took so long to solve the problems. Are we serious in solving the issues? May we are too weak, no strong rules and regulations, no experts, no money, ....OR we just want to let it cool and continue polluting our environment. Remember Malaysia is no 8 plastic polluter in the world. Need quick solution.

The government agencies must show heir commitment in conserving nature and protect the quality of pristine water.. Orang Asli need to be educated and give then proper health support. With technologies and knowledge that we have surely we can tell the truth with doubt on the kes of Orang Asli death in Kuala Koh. Science never lie.

Observing migratory birds in Kuala Gula. Now birds landing is declining may be habitat quality is degraded in term of the population and contamination of benthic organisms.

Sometimes we need to visit our neighbours to share what we have and wjhat they are doing. MNS will celebrate 80 years next year 2020 and Nottingham University celebrating 20 years in Malaysia next year. We are going to plant 100 trees next year in Nottingham University Malaysia Campus. MNS promoting all university's campus planting trees to green their campus. All students must plant trees.

World is making jokes of Malaysia about plastics. Malaysian Government must take immediate actions to stop and manage plastic populations.

surprisingly the respond is very good. perhaps next year this international essay competition will get more sponsors. Theme for this year is about Tiger Conservation.

knowledge and awareness among Malaysian on biodiversity are increasing BUT the implementation is still not inline with policies. We need more experts, volunteers and volunteers to talk and take action to help the government. The nature lovers need more knowledge and the experts need to educate the public clearly so that they are not too extreme. We need to protect sensitive species and habitat. Listen to the experts. No time to race to argue when the development growing rapidly. We are racing against extinction.

Which one is more important. collaborating with the foreign experts or wait for our scientists do study our wildlife. many more studies on primates are needed and we definitely cannot wait because the conflicts are increase, the solution is needed urgently. What we can do may be strengthen the rules and regulation and encourage the young scientists to develop their interest in field biology. NOT just complaining on the keyboard and spread viral.

Managing rivers not just for flood mitigation and waste management BUT the ecology of river systems for better ecological services and socio-economy benefits.

Wildlife conflicts with important economic resources need to be managed systematically. All estate mangers must be educated and wildlife experts need to be engaged.

Committee involvement is very important in monitoring birds habitat and their population during migration. MNS play roles in this activities. MNS feeding information to the government and international bodies for further actions.

How far the government agencies responding to the statements made in the media. sometime the authorities cannot solve the problems alone.

We already talked about Rhino extinction in Peninsular Mallaysia, Milky Stork also no more in the wild. Now we are saying last rhino in Sabah. What lesson we learned. may be we should propose a special committee on potential extinction of wildlife especially big and sensitive animals.

Malaysia is an independent country and Developed countries cannot bully Malaysia by sending rubbish to Malaysia. Or Malaysian are stupid enough to accept rubbish and creating problems to the country. About time Malaysian need to say something loud to stop importing rubbish. How far issues reported in the media and debated in Parliament are responded well by the authority and supported by the public.
