Professor Dr Ahmad Ismail, a professor of wildlife ecology and ecotoxicology from Universiti Putra Malaysia biology department is also of the opinion that academic excellence cannot be measured by publications alone.

He strongly believes that other aspects of academia should be considered.

“Publication alone is not enough. Teaching and supervising of students, attending conferences and seminars, extension and dissemination of knowledge and new findings to the public (among others) make an academician complete.”

“We would like our papers to be published in reputable, high-impact journals – but we can’t because majority are less than one to 3 impact factors,” he says.

“What is important is what we can contri­bute to our own country – at a local level. If you just concentrate on writing, then you are just a writer.

“A lecturer must develop areas of knowledge and then teach it to students, and not rely on textbooks alone.”

How Far We Look After Our Self?

1. Everyday we wake up ad think of our routine jobs. How we treated our self and our immediate family?
2. At work place we work or we do not work depending on the systems at our working place. In factory we have to follow the system that the company established. In some government offices you may have the problems with the systems, where you can escape from jobs.
3. At the end of the month you will get your salary and pay all the bills and spending according to your needs. How many of you will save the money for your hospitals, emergency etc.
4. End of the month you poor again, sick, old, and....
5. We should look for our health, our family for their future, our company where we work so that the company can sustain to pay our salary.
6. Then we will retire with happy face.

Guru yang terlatih akan memberikan pendidikan berkesan dalam bidang pertanian di sekolah.

All University's Students Need Biology

A special curriculum need to be designed to support basic biology understanding among university's student. The students from all fields and background need to understand biology. Biology is about to understand life. All aspects of life involve biology, not just the process of human daily life but the ecosystems that human living in and the interactions within the ecosystems. All human needs, actions and demand for life involve biology. Therefore learning biology is a must for the university's students to equip them with a basic knowledge in order to help them in making a decision and managing their duties where ever they work or what ever their position in the future.

Continous Campaign For Hornbills Conservation In Selangor

In order to protect wildlife and their habitat and support conservation, public is very Important.
Today we have the third programme with public on awareness and support to conserve horn bills. We have five specie of horn bills in Sungai Karang Forest Reserve and they are home range including oil palm plantation and villages. In the village the birds disturb fruits tree and make them unacceptable to the public.
Through this activities since last five years, now the public support and the number of birds are increasing. Government Departments such as Deparment of Agriculture, Department of Tourism, Department of Forestry, Department of Education and Deparment of Wildlife and National Parks should be intvolved. We can refer to my previous blogs on this horn bills activities.
