Another recognition for top scientists in Malaysia. They should win a grants, at least for them to give talk to public on what they are doing and promoting science to public.

KUALA LUMPUR - Four Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) experts were recently appointed as new fellows of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM).
They are Profesor Dr. –Ing. Ir. Renuganth Varatharajoo (Aerospace Engineering Department) and  Prof. Dr. Borhanuddin Mohd Ali (Department of Computer and Communication Systems Engineering  (CCSE), both from the Engineering Department who have been playing their respective roles in the field of Engineering and Computer Science.
The other two UPM experts are Prof. Dr. Ahmad Ismail (Biology Department of the Science Faculty) and Prof. Dr. Mohd Ali Hassan (Bioprocessing Technology Department), of whom both have contributed significantly to the fields of biology, agriculture and environmental sciences.
ASM President, Tan Sri Dr Ahmad Tajuddin Ali said some 25 scientists, engineers and outstanding technological experts of the country were appointed as new ASM fellows in conjunction with its 21st Annual General Meeting which was held on April 30, 2016.
"Our academic expertise has now been expanded to include some 27 senior fellows and 303 other fellow members. In addition to our academic fellows, our network of experts also cover some 32 associate members, 51 new young scientists and 110 outstanding research scientists,” he said.
 Meanwhile, UPM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Datin Paduka Dr. Aini Ideris, commenting on their achievements, described ASM’s recognition as very meaningful to UPM which was borne from significant contributions they had had made to the fields of science, technology and innovation at both national and international levels.
“It is hoped that the appointment of ASM Fellow from UPM can contribute further to various ASM strategic researches, programs and activities,” she said.
