Another hard work to conserve this monkey in the wild. habitat, human-monkey conflict and other ecological issues challenge the scientists and conservationists. How about government of megabiodiversity's country??? The policy is there but the implementation is very tough unless the public care.
Borrow from Yeap MNS. Thank you

WWF Calling for stronger protection of the Greater Ulu Muda Forests. Frest logging still available. STOP LOGGING at ULU MUDA.
Apart from being extremely important for its vital role in provisioning water and other ecosystem services, the Greater Ulu Muda forest harbours important wildlife and biodiversity. Allowing activities such as logging or other extractive activities can have a detrimental effect on the water resources from the Greater Ulu Muda forests and the ecotourism potential.

in the process of solving certain issues, we need to do an integrated research and involving many experts. So not like before we have many authours in one publication. But in general our community still selfish not sharing in fact one professor publish paper with my student without my name and another professor deleted my name in the group.
Logging continues, land clearing continues, later flash flood and mud flood that will cause effect to flora and fauna and some unknown biodiversity may lost. Government must start to look at other things for the income and try to preserve our forest. Cutting trees is not the only incomes. May be forests can generate more incomes if we keep them.

Public awareness on land clearing is very poor. In fact big flood also still ok because the government will support them. malaysia is very peace country.. BUT those educated and aware of the disasters after land clearing will support highlands protection and conservation.

EORGE TOWN: Around 100 hectares of land on hills at Relau, Paya Terubong and Bukit Kukus have been cleared to date, the Penang State Hill Land Working Committee has established.
Committee chairman Datuk Farizan Darus said the majority of the land, or some 90ha of land cleared, were at Relau and Paya Terubong.
“The committee was informed that the 14ha land cleared on Bukit Kukus involved the state government’s development of a five-kilometre paired road connecting to Jalan Paya Terubong.
“The construction on Lot 2494 is scheduled to be completed by 2019,” he said.
Farizan, who is also the state secretary, said the committee, which had its first meeting this morning, had formulated an integrated approach involving various agencies to tackle hill-side clearing issues.
Flash flood and land slides create problems in Penang today after long heavy rain. A lot of things we need to learn. Information on weather, readiness to face heavy rain, drainage systems, disciplines in managing solid waste especially plastics bags and bottles, land clearing and slopes, managing surface runoff and many more. Politician and other decision makers please listen to the experts. I spend 12 hours in the car today from Kuala Lumpur and back, I have to turn back to KL because I cannot go to Penang Island and even to Kedah. I then missed very important meeting in Penang.

Now UPM can proud of this achievement. BUT always remember even genuine success also very difficult to be maintained.

If we can list all the issues that can help the society or improve their quality of life, we can encourage more collaboration with corporate sectors. Eg Cocacola with UPM in recycling, Air Asia on supporting students and their academic, and many more.

ernandes said the airline’s partnership with UPM is a win-win proposition, particularly in research, with the best students from UPM doing internship in AirAsia, and in providing job opportunities.
“It’s an ongoing process. We try to work with UPM to provide all-round students so that when they come to the corporation, they will be able to participate and be creative as well as innovative.
“We have also unleashed a massive amount of talent through the CEO’s faculty programme in UPM.
“It was not just for the students to learn but also for corporate leaders to learn what universities can give them.”
Fernandes said there is so much AirAsia can do with the university, leveraging the e-commerce platform and “we unearthed something that we never thought about before”.
UPM’s livery on AirAsia’s Airbus A320-200 aircraft comes with the celebration of its academia’s industry partnership.
With a budget of US$50,000, the livery was designed by UPM’s Faculty of Design and Architecture.
UPM vice-chancellor Professor Datin Paduka Dr Aini Ideris said UPM is pleased to be the first university to have an aircraft livery on an AirAsia plane.
“As UPM’s strategic partner, AirAsia has set aside the commercial aspects of this project and stressed on the importance of knowledge and why institutions of higher education should be uplifted,” she said.
Aini pointed out that through this non-commercial initiative, AirAsia has provided a platform for UPM in the field of design, creativity and art for high-impact projects.

All Malaysian especially the Malays must understand the history of the country clearly and learn how to live in modern ways and respect each other. The important aspects that can bring people together in this areas are language, culture, religion and economy. Do we have enough experts in this areas?
At many events, participants are busy taking pictures especially the vips and the volunteers. At least for the memory of the event. hopefully all remember their contribution in planting mangrove and understand the purpose of planting and the ecological function.. The secretariat must continue to work hard as usual before and after the event.
