Very Urgent!! look at the Straits of Johore bodering Singapore. Both sides look like competing reclaiming the coastal areas without considering the biological diversity, nature, benefit of the locals and green areas. One day the areas will be another mordern city like Dubai. Development of Iskandar and both east and west of Tambak Johore may affect the nature. Close observation needed. Areas like Tanjung Piai, Merambong and ramsar Site need to be protected. All levels of administrators, managers, politician and public need to be educated. Reseaches are urgent and data badly needed in order to educate the leaders. If foreign investors and developers are faster than the scientists then we will see concrete canal bordering Johor and Singapore.

The oceanography of Straits of Johor need to be understood. Monsoon changes may influence the ecology of the area.
Merambong Sea Grass Bed. Only two hours expose during low tide. need to be protected for the best sea grass bed in this region and for dugong conservation. BUT with rapid development of Tanjung Pelepas and Iskandar, the future of sea grass bed is questionable and Dugong are in danger because their grazing area is destroying.
