Before Merdeka Malaysia depending on foreigners to study biodiversity and related basic research, perhaps after 2020 Malaysia will continuously depending on foreigners. If before were British and Americans, may be this time Japanese. Field biology dominated by European, American and Japanese. May be soon the Chinese (I mean from mainland China). We are too commercial.
