Curriculum need to be designed such way so that the students will understand and practice science in their life not just passing the exam without understanding practicing in the life when they are in school and after.
Teachers are the important elements to translate he curriculum to students and make sure that the students understand and change culture of exam oriented.
Teachers need to be retrained according to time and current interest of teaching and demand in science education.
University should plays an important roles or teaching colleges can be actively used for retraining the teachers. We have experts in teaching of sciences not just teaching techniques but mastering the subject matters.
To avoid stereotype culture and respect diversity in knowledge and approaches of thinking, creativity and style perhaps we can offer Bachelor of Science with education in few universities to support the existing one stream approach. Perhaps in expanding of basic agriculture approached in schools, perhaps we can have a Bachelor of Agriculture Programme in university such as Universiti Putra Malaysia where the strength and history in agriculture were there.
