Perlis and Kedah ready for monsoon
GEORGE TOWN: Perlis and Kedah have learnt valuable lessons from the heavy rain and floods that hit them over the past one week and have drawn up contingency plans to face the monsoon season.
A Perlis National Security DepartÂment spokesman said the flood operations room would be open round-the-clock and the state Welfare Department had stocked up on basic amenities such as rice, canned food and other food items.

If we study the climate change and global warming events in the world, monsoon or typhoon activities were also changed. Some countries were really affected by the events. Should we be more proactive to face this unavoidable disaster in the future. More research money should be allocated for natural disasters studies and related issues. We can search for money and researchers but we cannot change weather and its effects. May be we can try to predict. A lot more we need to learn.
