Govt to recruit 1,000 retired English teachers

KUALA LUMPUR: The Education Ministry hopes to recruit 1,000 retired English language teachers on contract basis, said Deputy Education Minister Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong.
This, he said, is to complement the proposed employment of 375 native English speaking teachers announced in Budget 2011 recently.

Not only English; BM, Sejarah and Agama Islam are lacking too. Government should have a proper planning and succession programme of staff base on requirement (immediate, short term and long term) and situation. Similar cases go to the universities. Is it because educationist only can teach but cannot think and plan? OR they are too clever, always arguing without conclusion. OR Nowadays people do not listen/respect to academician anymore.
