Japanese School in Subang planted two durian trees


Many Japanese dont like durian because of its bad smell BUT some durian gives good taste. Japanese school in Subang have planted few local fruits trees for education purposes. They have mangos, starfruits, jack fruits, rambutans and now durians. Durian trees were donated by Prof Dr. Ahmad Ismail from UPM. Prof. Ahmad is also Chairman of Parents Teachers Association (PTA) for Sekolah Seri Selangor, Subang Jaya, Advisor for MNS Education Programme and Council Member for Malaysian Nature Siciety (MNS). The principal Mr Kano Sadao was at the planting site. Prof Ahmad promoting "Sekolah dalam Dusun" (School in Orchard) for schools in town areas. This idea will encourage the school children to know local fruits not just eating them, but to know the trees, flowers, fruits, taste, seasons, diseases, pest, pollinators and all about local fruits trees.
