The 3rd International symposium on Oryzias fish, Universiti Putra Malaysia, 10-11 November 2011

THE 3rd INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM OF ORYZIAS FISH
“Important tool for molecular biology to environmental sciences”
Universiti Putra Malaysia, 10-11 November 2011

INVITATION

The International Symposium of Oryzias Fish is a meeting for all scientists involved in scientific studies of various biological aspects of the medaka fishes of the genus Oryzias and related species. A variety of studies on Japanese medaka has not only established the species as an excellent model animal for experimental organisms but also opened a new era for the wide range of research of at least 20 different Oryzias species distributed in Asia. The presence of well-defined species groups inhabiting various environments is a unique and important advantage of the medaka fishes over other model animals, making it possible to analyze speciation, evolution, biogeography, development, adaptation, and effects of pollutants, from various viewpoints including molecular biology, behavioral biology, ecology, ecotoxicology and environmental sciences,
It is our pleasure to organize a meeting concerning the Oryzias species in Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Serdang Selangor, Malaysia. We cordially invite you to participate in this meeting to exchange the latest information and ideas, and continue our collaborations on Oryzias fishes in the form of Asian Medaka Association (AMA), multilateral or bilateral research collaboration. We look forward to welcoming you all in Universiti Putra Malaysia, Serdang, Selangor, Malaysia (http://www.upm.edu.my/).
